Management Team

Manfred Schneider  - President

Manfred Schneider carries responsibility for all strategic, sales and operational aspects of MICOS USA. Before co-founding MICOS USA with MICOS Germany and William Culpi, Manfred held engineering and executive management positions at companies ranging from $10 Million to $200 million. Most recently, he was vice president of engineering at IMC Networks where he layed the foundation for significant growth. Prior to IMC, he was vice president of engineering at Extron Electronics, the industry leader in the Audio/Video distribution and processing market.  Manfred started his US career with an eight year tenure at Newport Corporation, where he developed numerous of Newport’s best-selling motion controllers.

Born in Germany, Manfred has been a proud American citizen since 2003. He received his Dipl. Ing. (BSEE) from the FH Regensburg (Germany) and a Master of Science in Robotics and Controls from Clemson University, which he attended on a Fulbright scholarship. His thesis on several advanced motion control algorithms was published in the IEEE transactions. He later obtained an MBA from the University of Southern California. Manfred holds several US patents and pending patents.

 

William Culpi - VP of Engineering

As vice president of engineering, William Culpi is responsible for all aspects of MICOS USA’s product development activities. He oversees the research of new technologies, development of new products, system configurations and custom design aspects. Before joining MICOS USA, William was engineering manager at Newport Corporation where he worked for over 16 years in a variety of engineering and management positions. William developed and co-developed numerous of Newport’s most successful motion control and instrumentation products. His multi-disciplinary background and innovative approach have resulted in many outstanding solutions for leading equipment manufacturers in the semiconductor, flat panel, medical, optical instrumentation and various other markets. Prior to Newport, William worked for ten years at Excellon Automation/Excellon Photonics where he developed laser-imaging systems for the PCB manufacturing industry making singificant contributions to Excelleon's technology base.
 
William grew up in Romania where he received his Master degree in electro-mechanical engineering. He graduated magna cum laude with his thesis receiving second place at a national research conference and being published in IEEE-Transactions. William is a  holder of several US patents and pending patents.

 

 

Kathryn Schneider - VP of Finance and Administration

Kathryn Schneider is responsible for all financial and administrative aspects of MICOS USA.  Kathryn has over 17 years of experience in finance and human resource management.  She has worked for small, medium, and large size companies in a variety of industries.  Most recently she served as Director of Enterprise Financial Reporting at Freedom Communications located in Irvine, California.


Kathryn earned a CPA and CMA, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu California.  She graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
