D E S C R I P T I O N

With the SMC - product line MICOS offers a very interesting controller concept. Only modernst technologies are used. From the well-known control SMC compact some new developments arised which enlarge considerably the product spectrum. But the compatibility to all news is guaranteed by the consistent implementation of Venus-1 command language! Well legible ASCll-commands of the integrated VENUS interpreter (app. 150 commands depending on the option or extension step) facilitate the implementation to all current standard languages in any operating systems what ever. 32 Bit-high power processors (Transputer / RISC-processors) make sure that up to 4 axes can work at the same time with highest resolution and speed. Depending on the variant a cascadation of several modules is possible. The noise development of the stepper motor is strongly reduced by a special drive principle and the micro-step operation. Also very slow positioning velocities from 1 µm/s or less guarantee a continuous move of the motion.

 

 

In addition to the serial interface RS-232, it is possible to offer a parallel interface IEEE. All user parameters are laid down in a non-volatile storage. The optional operation in closed-loop is very interesting. Linear- and rotation measuring systems can be connected directly. We like to draw your attention to the joystick-mode. Via an analog joystick (2- or 3 axes) the process units can be with real feeling visually positioned. The power supply is designed for a high tension range
( 85-250 V (AC) ) so that at a world-wide use you are independent of the respective power supply. For the first operation of the system a Windows-user interface WinPos-Light is supplied. All operating parameters can be adjusted without problems. It is also possible to create positioning programs. For complex applications the full version of the windows-user interface WinPos is available. This one contains a.o. teach-in, distance generator and various tools which improve the comfort.

The implementation in an existing software is very easy. The commands must be send as a string to the controller. All replies from the controller are also strings.

returns the current status of the controller (Bit 0 .. 8)
