The construction of buildings, tunnels or bridges without levelling is impossible. The technique of leveling is very old and is used since thounsands of years. Nowadays the needed precision of the applications mentioned above strongly increased. The advantages of a laser beam concerning straightness and divergence support the engineers in doing their tasks much more accurate. This educational kit teaches the students the basic pro-perties of a laser beam and how to handle laser leveling systems. All typical instruments used in industry are introduced. The workshop provides a laser spirit level, a rotational laser with a pentaprism which produces a plane with a laser beam as well as a perpendicular to that plane. The measuremt of distances is shown by a included laser range finder. All instruments can be assembled to a solid tripod with an adjustable base. The comprehensive user manual explains all needed basics of laser levelling and the use of the delivered instrumentation.
