High-dynamic Positioning System
with Linear Motors

The positioning system consists of the standard components LMS-300 and LMS-180. Both travel stages are equipped with linear motors. Special features of this system are travel speeds up to 400 mm/s and an acceleration of 0.8 g with minimal response time. All travel stages are provided with high-quality Heidenhain Encoders which guarantee a resolution of more than 0.1µm. The system has a remarkable smooth move and a high repeatability. The PXI System and Lab View of National Instruments is used as controller. The power amplifier of the SMC Taurus, Pegasus series was especially developed for direct drives. The XY-stages have to be mounted with an orthogonality of 30 µrad. 20.000 hours MTBF are guaranteed.

Tree Scanner

This 2-axes scanner is used for the measurement and analyzing of all characteristics of the tree population. The scanning of the trees is made on-site. Positioning system and laser work by the use of accumulator batteries. The system provides a resolution of 0.0015. A GPS System is integrated. The tree scanner is well-suited for the use on-site as it is very immune from interference.

Manual Mounting of Optical Receivers

This high-quality multi-mounting work station was especially developed for the mounting of optical receivers for proto types and small-lot production. With this work station the user will be able to execute a very quick, precise and user-friendly micro-mounting. The systems were mainly assembled by using our MICOS standard modules.
